Wychavon District Council appointed McPhillips under a JCT Contract to deliver car park resurfacing and associated civil works in Broadway, the gateway village to the Cotswolds and a major tourist destination.
The council required the short-stay car park to be resurfaced and issues with standing water resolved whilst maintaining the village’s reputation as a popular tourist destination. The project was completed during the quieter month of January to minimise disruption to the village.
The programme encompassed overlaying the entire car park, adjusting ironwork and kerbs, resetting wall coping stones, jetting and cleaning out gullies, and fully re-white-lining the car park. The client’s main concern was long-standing issues with standing water, all of which were fully resolved through the project.
Given the political nature of Broadway & how busy the car park gets with cars and pedestrians passing through, it’s been a great success to complete within the timescales agreed. A credit to everyone at McPhillips for a decent job.”
