Carbon reduction.

Cutting carbon to protect our world.

Every day we work to lower our impact on the world – so the communities we have served for 60+ years can enjoy an even brighter future. It starts with the things we can control directly – making sure our plant, transport and the energy we use is as clean as possible. Then we work with our clients and supply chain to reduce carbon throughout the build. Everything we do is independently checked and measured by Auditel against the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

On the road to net zero.

A cleaner fleet.

Because we own our plant and vehicles, we can choose cleaner machines, maintain them properly and run them efficiently – not hire whatever happens to be available. It’s a simple idea that makes a big difference.

We’ve already switched company cars to electric and hybrid, trialled HVO renewable diesel across our sites and set out a phased move to a zero-emission fleet. Together, these changes form the backbone of a targeted 1,096 tCO₂e cut from Scope 1 by 2030.

  • Electric and hybrid company cars — growing year on year
  • HVO renewable diesel — trialled and rolling out across sites
  • Zero-emission fleet transition — planned and phased

Yes – you can find it on this page and it is also available to download. It sets out a 2024 baseline footprint of 3,987 tCO₂e across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, the reduction targets behind it, and the initiatives delivering them, all independently measured and verified by Auditel against the GHG Protocol, with science-based targets on the road to net zero by 2050.

Company cars have moved to electric and hybrid. HVO renewable diesel is rolling out across sites and our plant and vehicle fleet is on a phased transition to zero emissions – the core of a targeted 1,096 tCO₂e cut from Scope 1 by 2030. Owning our own plant is crucial to driving down emissions.

We agree social value targets at the beginning of all contracts and report against them. They include local employment and local spend, apprenticeships and work experience, SME supply chain engagement, and community benefit through the McPhillips Community Fund and school engagement.
