Wyre Forest Fire Station

The scheme had to deliver a fully operational blue-light facility on a brownfield site — combining front-line appliance provision, residential and leisure accommodation for crews, shared administrative space for partner services, and specialist rescue-training infrastructure including burn rooms, a water-rescue pit and a vehicle-extraction area, all served by a large operational yard.

The two-storey main building (1,706m² GIFA) houses five fire appliance bays, residential and leisure facilities, and administrative offices for the co-located police and lifeboat personnel. A single-storey three-bay garage (231m²) and a two-storey training building (251m²) with burn rooms sit alongside an 11,715m² concrete yard incorporating a water-rescue training pit and a vehicle-extraction training area.

Delivered in a 60-week programme and completed in February 2020, the station gives Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service a modern, resilient operational and training hub for Kidderminster and the wider Wyre Forest district.
