Award winning construction company McPhillips will launch its project to convert The Old Flour Mill in Tipton into much needed housing with a meet the buyer event.
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has appointed McPhillips as its official construction partner on the project, part of wider plans to regenerate Tipton town centre.
The building stands alongside the canal and was home to the Union Flour Mill from 1840. It is to be converted into 19 one and two bedroomed council flats and includes a new build extension to the property.
As part of McPhillips’ social value delivery, the company is committed to sourcing 60% of its supply chain from within a 20-mile radius of Sandwell.
A Meet the Buyer event is being held on Thursday, June 18 and McPhillips is particularly interested in meeting local suppliers and sub-contractors specialising in:
- General building materials
- Skip hire
- Tool hire
- Carpentry
- Timber windows/staircases
- timber door sets/ironmongery
- Scaffolding
- Builders Clean
- Architectural metal work
- Roof tiling
- Painting & decorating
- External rendering
- Floor finishers
- Curtain walling, windows and doors
The event is at the Village Hotel, Castlegate Park, Birmingham Road, Dudley DY1 4TB on Thursday, June 18 from 8-9.30am and will include meet & greet, presentation and Q&A session.
