Leading contractor McPhillips is set to continue its role in shaping the future of Herefordshire after being appointed to a £100 million highways and public realm framework.
The award-winning civil engineering and building contractor will play a major part in future civil engineering, bridge maintenance and open space improvement projects across the city through the Herefordshire Council’s Highways and Public Realm Schemes Framework.
It is one of 14 companies appointed to the four-year framework and the only supplier to be awarded contracts in both the general civils and structures schemes of the framework, both carrying an estimated contract award value of £10 million.
Herefordshire Council has appointed nine contractors in total across the two schemes.
Paul Inions, McPhillips managing director, said:
“Securing a place on this significant framework demonstrates our proven capability in delivering complex, high value civil engineering and public realm schemes.
“It further cements our already strong relationship with Herefordshire Council and we look forward to delivering high-quality works across Herefordshire over the coming years.”
McPhillips is currently on site in Hereford constructing the transport hub that will link buses, trains and taxis and make it easier for people to move around the city.
It forms part of the wider Improving Transport in Hereford scheme, that is being supported by government Levelling Up fund.
McPhillips has pledged to support local supply chains throughout the project, ensuring that the economic benefits of the investment flow directly into the local community, from local suppliers to local skilled workers.
A place has also been secured on the Rise Construction Framework, a social business investing profits into community initiatives that help to tackle poverty and deprivation. During the past 10 years, Rise has generated over 100,000,000 worth of social return on investment and has directly supported over 100,000 individuals across the Northwest.
