Charitable Efforts

Two of McPhillips’ employees will shortly be exerting themselves in aid of local charities.  Trainee Estimator Josh Blakeway (left) is planning to compete in a tough mudder event to be held at Belvoir Castle, Leicester on 12th May 2018 in aid of St Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham.

In case you’re wondering what a tough mudder is we are informed that “its a mud and obstacle course designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit.”  Sounds fun!

Josh and his team of eight are hoping to raise £2000 for St Mary’s who’s aim is to give individuals more choice at the end of their life and provide services whenever and wherever they need them.

Assistant site manager Mike Robinson will be participating in the ‘Kapow’ 5k assault course event organised by Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury on 21st of April 2018 dressed as Superman.

Mike will be raising money for the hospice in memory of his mother who was cared for by the charity in 2017.  He said “I am trying to raise as much money as possible to help the hospice support and care for people living with life limiting illnesses, just as they did for my mum, as well as supporting families through difficult times.”
