22 Annual Consecutive Health & Safety Gold Awards

McPhillips has been handed a prestigious award by The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in recognition of its health and safety performance in 2018-19 following 22 years of consecutive gold awards.

The RoSPA Order of Distinction is due to be presented on June 6th at the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.

This latest award is testament to the hard work put in by our H&S team, site staff and 200+ strong directly employed workforce. Improvement initiatives in the last 12 months have been aimed at preventing service strikes, enhancing segregation of plant and personnel, and a focus on seat belt use on operated plant while our occupational health spotlight has been on improving well-being and mental health.

McPhillips’ existing health and safety management system was fully audited in 2019 by our certifying body and following this certification to OHSAS18001:2007 was renewed.

Not one’s to rest on our laurels the next 12 months will see this system evolve in preparation for ISO45001:2018.
