Construction firm McPhillips has joined the TOTM Period Positive Workplace Scheme, installing organic sanitary products in the female toilets at its Telford headquarters.
The move reflects the company’s dedication to creating an inclusive workplace and is part of its commitment to supporting employee wellbeing.
The TOTM period positive campaign aims to tackle period poverty and promote menstrual health awareness in workplaces across the UK. By providing free access to sanitary products, participating organisations help ensure that no one is disadvantaged by their period – breaking taboos and driving period positive change,
Val Hardy, company secretary at McPhillips, said: “We’re pleased to be part of the TOTM campaign. Providing free sanitary products is a simple but meaningful step that removes barriers and shows our team that we care about their health, dignity and comfort at work.
“It’s part of our broader commitment to fostering a supportive workplace culture where everyone can thrive, regardless of their circumstances. We believe small actions like this make a real difference to people’s lives, and we’re proud to play our part in normalising conversations around period poverty.”
Although many similar schemes exist, McPhillips chose TOTM because of the positive work they do with charities Endometriosis UK and In Kind Direct; more than £100k has been donated to Endometriosis UK in recent years, while thousands of pads are sent to IKD each month to support its gift-a-pad scheme.
