Client: Hadley Park Hotel

Value: £1,500,000

Programme: 31 weeks

Completion Date: April 2010

McPhillips secured this £1,500,000 contract to build an extension on the grade two listed Hadley Park Hotel in Telford through an initial competitive process and were appointed as Principal Contractor. We then worked closely with the client and architect in order to produce a sympathetic design which was fully in-keeping with the existing hotel which dates from 1761.

The hotel was to remain fully operational throughout our works and the extension was completed in a 31 week construction period. The first phase began with the demolition of existing barns on the site where we crushed and re-used all the demolition arisings as hardcore fill for the extension. The new building consists of a large function suite with feature oak trusses, food preparation areas and ten guest bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms in a two storey block. High quality finishes have been used throughout to reflect the standard of the hotel and the extension is fully air-conditioned. The build is traditional brick and block construction and provides an internal floor area of 700m2. We also completed external works in the form of a 120m access road, 45 space car park, landscaping and feature patio areas.
