Champions Church
Client: Champions Church
Value: £2,000,000
Programme: 43 weeks
Completion Date: January 2010
This project was for the construction of a contemporary design church in Netherton,
We first undertook site stabilisation works through Vibro-compaction and installed reinforced concrete foundations and column bases.
The Building comprises of a steel frame with curtain walling to the ground floor and blockwork walls insulated and rendered using the Permarock system. A Power floated concrete floor slab to the whole building was laid over insulated boards.
The 832 seat semi-circular, tiered auditorium was under Contractors design and we ensured this was modeled to be acoustically superior. We used steelwork and in-situ concrete for the tiered seating in order to reduce deflection during use.
The roof was a built up system using insulation between two skins of sheet metal, with a rubberised single skin membrane above.
A highly complex, linked lighting and sound system was supplied and installed by our specialist sub-contractor.
Access roads were laid to tarmac and the car park was a combination of tarmac and porous surfacing.
